The HRD Academy UK (HRDA) is an independent professional organisation focused on furthering excellence in training and development. It provides defined criteria, standards and procedures for evaluation and optimisation of training and development activities.
HRDA is founded by a group of professional people with over 20 years of experience in training and professional development. The HRDA is based in England, United Kingdom and has thousands of affiliates and associates in more than 15 countries. The organisation offers networking opportunities through its regional coordinators, provides certification and educational programs, conducts research, spots trends and assists HRD professionals in developing skills and strategies to develop and manage the training and development activities.
The main purpose of the HRD Academy (HRDA) is to make sure that HRD trainers possess the knowledge, skills, professional competence, and ethical standards, required in the practice of training profession.
HRDA is a full member of the British Learning Association (BLA), the most prestigious British organisation for learning providers. BLA exists to promote best practice in learning throughout the education and training sectors of the UK, Europe and Overseas. It is the national, cross sector association for high quality learning. As a member of BLA, HRD Academy (HRDA) adheres to national guidelines set for quality standards adopted as the Association’s own Code of Practice.

The HRD Academy (HRDA) will be an internationally recognised leader in training and development providing professional trainers with recognition and standards of excellence, guidance, strategies, materials and tools to develop their professional competence and consulting capabilities, and contribute to the advancement of their profession.
Mission
The HRD Academy (HRDA) mission is to foster quality, integrity and excellence in training and development through competency-based education, quality standards, procedures, state-of-the-art training resources, information, advice, and support services for evaluation and optimisation of training and development activities.
Through specialised training and developing programs and certification the HRD Academy (HRDA):
1. Develops, assists and supports professional training and consulting capabilities and contribute to the advancement of their profession
2. Encourages systematic study of effective training skills, processes, and practices
3. Disseminates information about training profession
4. Applies learning research findings, to provide opportunities for social and intellectual interaction among trainers and learning professionals.
5. Provides professional trainers with guidance, strategies, materials and tools to develop their professional competence.
6. HRDA Certification is a status granted to individuals who meet or exceed the stated criteria of learning quality.
The HRD Academy (HRDA) is committed to providing high quality certification programmes based on recognised standards of education, experience and ethical conduct for human resource professionals.
In support of its customers, the HRD Academy (HRDA) promotes the training profession by providing leadership, recognition and standards of excellence.

The trainer’s certification process requires that applicants have to pass two assessments:
- Knowledge assessment- a written examination consisting of 20 questions to assess the theoretical knowledge of the learning process, and
- Performance assessment - using an assessment instrument consisting of 20 elements to measure the trainer performance.
